Our Staff

I've lived most of my life in Omaha, where I grew up, graduated from Benson High, and found Christ as my Savior in my 20's. As a new believer, I soon found a desire to study God's Word and help others understand the Bible so they can know Him too.

In addition to pastoring four churches, I've been a chaplain at two rescue missions (including the Open Door Mission in Omaha) and a hospice chaplain, but it's serving the local church that excites me more than anything; to have the amazing privilege of caring for and serving the whole family, from children to seniors, and helping them to know God's Word and amazing grace for them.

God has blessed me with a great partner in life and ministry, my wife Deb, and together we've raised 3 children (now adults), and are now enjoying one grandson.

I grew up in Martensdale, a small town in south central Iowa. I attended Martensdale Community Church and accepted Jesus as my personal Savior. I helped out in our Awana, VBS, Sunday School programs.  I also was a staff member for many summers at East Iowa Bible Camp near Deep River, IA.

I came to Omaha to attend Grace University, and I worked with Awana and Youth programs in two different churches in Omaha. While at Grace, I also worked at Camp Forest Springs and graduated from Grace with a BS in Christian Camping and Bible.  I directed the Heartland Baptist District --South camping program for many years.

I started attending Center Baptist Church helping out with the youth program in 1999. I became the Youth Director in June of 2001.

God is blessing our youth program at Center. We have had many ups and downs over the years but God is a great God! I can remember many years praying for contact with the teens around the Center Baptist Church area. It is exciting to see God answering our prayers. He is bringing many of the youth in our immediate area to Youth Group. Many of them are coming to know the Lord. I am glad God has allowed me to be apart of the ministry of Center Baptist Church.
